  • To understand the certifications
    • ECOCERT : Created in 1991, Ecocert is the French specialist in the certification of products from organic farming. Ecocert has contributed to the development of organic farming by participating in the drafting of French and European regulations, and still works today with the Ministry of Agriculture, the INAO and the European Commission to support development of this mode of production. The Demeter brand was created in the early 20th century in Germany by farmers. Over the decades, Demeter has professionalized to offer today: 1. a range of demanding and comprehensive international specifications for biodynamic farming and the processing of processed products derived from them (food products, cosmetics and textiles) 2. a reliable international control and certification system (nearly 60 countries) LINKS : https://www.demeter.fr/ • HVE : High environmental value (HEV) corresponds to the highest level of a more general scheme of environmental certification for farms. The farm environmental certification is a voluntary approach which aims to identify and promote particularly environmentally-friendly practices applied by farmers. HEV covers four key areas: biodiversity conservation, plant protection strategy, management of fertiliser use and management of water. In order to engage the whole agricultural sector in an approach focused on environmental progress, it is designed on the basis of certification of the whole farm at three levels. The third or "high environmental value" level is based on performance indicators. Farm certification, which enables farmers to label their products with a value statement "from farms certified as having high environmental value", guarantees a farm's high level of environmental performance. Unveiled by Minister Stéphane Le Foll at the Independent Wine-Growers Exhibition on 27 November, the HEV logo is associated with the value statement and can be placed on finished products containing at least 95% of raw materials from farms certified as having high environmental value. The presence of the logo on finished products makes it possible to highlight for consumers the efforts of farms engaged in the highest level of the environmental certification scheme. Recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture, the Terra Vitis certification has obtained the equivalent of level 2 of the Environmental Certification. To obtain certification, the winegrowers agree to comply with the Terra Vitis specifications. A guarantee of the seriousness of the approach, an independent body regularly monitors compliance with the specifications and validates the granting of certification. LINKS : http://terravitis.com
